For our 40st anniversary, our daughter decided to send us on cruise from Sydney to Southampton to then visit my sister in London and return via plane. Everything was a surprise, in detail prepared by our lovely daughter. We only found out where we were heading on our way to the cruise ship. A lovely surprise since we’ve relocated 30 years ago and we only manage to see London a few times because of the distance and the fortune spent each time.
The cruise has been magnificent and without any doubt an experience that we would love to repeat. We had a wonderful time on the Queen Mary 2, there was a lot to do, with so many lectures to go to on a variety of different subjects. The entertainment suited all different tastes and the Queen Mary singers and dancers were fabulous. We were served by Frederic; Adrian and Marianne at dinner, they were so entertaining. The food was excellent also. If you want a nice relaxing fortnight go to New York and back on the Queen Mary 2. The ships company will certainly look after you well. We arrived in Southampton and we already had a chauffeur waiting for us at the terminal. Our daughter, Laura, took care of everything in the smallest. The driver was very polite, helped us with the bags, and took us to my sister’s house on the shortest route possible. Lots of things have changed, but I can still remember London as if I never left. We spent a lovely time with Lilly and was nice to meet the two new additions to our family. Upon our return, this time by plane, we had allocated the same driver from the same Heathrow Airport taxi company to ensure transfer, which we found rather pleasant as it gave us peace of mind we will get to the airport safely and on time. It was a beautiful fulfilling experience and we will definitely return.
